At Scuttlebutt, we believe our spot should feel like a living room for the community — a place where neighbors meet, and everyone feels welcome.

We started as a tiny farmers market coffee stand in 2019 and grew into a full breakfast and lunch (and sometimes dinner) spot in Padanaram thanks to an amazing community and an incredible team.

Now we’re looking for a few more great people to join that team.

Line Cook

We’re looking for someone to join our kitchen team and work the breakfast and lunch line.

Experience is a bonus, but not required. What matters most is being hardworking, adaptable, and excited to learn.

What you'll do

• Work the breakfast and lunch line by preparing breakfast sandwiches, lunch sandwiches, and specials to order
• Stay organized and adapt quickly when things get busy
• Jump in wherever needed, including helping with dishes (a big part of how we operate as a team)

Schedule

• 3–4days per week to start; Ramp up to 5 days by June

• Hours generally between 7am and 3pm

• Weekend availability is required

• Working catering events (rehearsal dinners, weddings, family parties) with us as needed, which may run later than day time schedule; full catering schedule will be shared ahead of time so new-hire can plan ahead

Pay

• $18-21 / hour, depending on experience, for “regular” shifts

• $25 / hour plus tips for catering events

Barista

We’re looking for an individual who loves coffee, hospitality, and creating a great experience for our guests!

Coffee experience is a plus, but not required — we provide hands-on training for new team members.

What you'll do

• Prepare espresso drinks and other beverages

• Take orders and deliver food in a fast pace, café setting 

• Learn about and work with high-quality coffee roasters

• Work with other staff to maintain a clean and organized environment 

• Help contribute to the warm, welcoming, community-oriented atmosphere that Scuttlebutt is known for

Schedule

• 2–3 days per week to start; Opportunity to ramp up to 4 or 5 days by June for the right candidate, if looking for full-time 

• Hours are generally between 7am and 3pm
