Scuttlebutt gives a Butt!
Scuttlebutt Padanaram loves to give back to our community! We wish we could fulfill every donation request we receive but we just couldn’t possibly. However, a limited number of requests are selected each year with preference given to non-profit organizations serving Dartmouth and New Bedford with a focus on providing healthy and sustainable food.
Since 2020, Scuttlebutt has volunteered hundreds of hours, supply costs, and staff energy to help run the annual Sharing the Harvest Community Farm’s Farm-to-Table dinner fundraiser. Sharing the Harvest is a nonprofit, volunteer-driven community farm that was established in 2006 as a grassroots response to hunger at the local level. The farm’s mission is to alleviate hunger, promote volunteerism, and provide agricultural education on the south coast of Massachusetts (https://ymcasouthcoast.org/programs/sharing-the-harvest/).
While most of our donation dollars go to this event, we select a limited number of other causes to support throughout the year. Types of support include:
