Hey there!

We’re the Scuttlebutt team! Founders Casey and Mike Cutting, and Jake Shwartz, all moved back to Dartmouth, MA in 2018 after living away for many years - Casey and Mike in London, UK, and Jake and his wife, Maia, in Portland, OR. A mutual friend introduced us, and surprise! We’d all moved back to the area with the dream of opening a local coffee shop inspired by the places we’d traveled.

Scuttlebutt spent the first two years operating as a pop-up at farmers’ markets and in friends’ local businesses. After packing up and breaking down our little “coffee shop that could” set-up several hundred times, we finally found a permanent home in the seaside village of Padanaram in Dartmouth, MA.

Thanks to our incredible team, we’ve built Scuttlebutt from a market stand that just served coffee and scones, to a fully fledged business with coffee, etc., breakfast, lunch, evening snacks and dinner, cocktails, beer, and wine!
